The Joy Of Cat &#%$

All I can say is WOW! Do 4 cats ever make a lot of &#%$ !! The "good" cat litter must become a thing of the past or I will be broke..haha At this rate I'll spend at least 120-140 a month on cat litter alone. Not good for the "entertainment" fund :/ The big cheap generic bags will soon be a reality. The odor control, clumping variety never has a chance to do either as the litter box requires cleaning and changing every 3 days to keep the cats themselves clean as well as the cat room. The expensive litter is obviously for single cat dwellings where the litter box can remain untouched by human hands a lot longer. The multiple cat claims on the litter box only is of use if there is 2-3 boxes at a time in the litter box. Who wants a 60+ pound bag of litter to change weekly...not I! More work for me but at least I'll save money.

The cats are all doing great and growing like mad. The flame point boy gets prettier everyday as his orange rings and points get darker. He's going to be a big gorgeous cat in another year. He is such a mama's boy and is always following the wife around talking to her and wanting attention. Loves to snuggle and is your typical flop in your arms ragdoll who purrs like a runaway sports car. The 2 newest additions are typical kittens. They spend most of their time eating or sleeping. When they are awake ans energetic it is a constant laugh as they chase each other and Legolas around whilst playing with their various toys. Flash is the most vocal of them all. He is always talking up a storm in a very loud fashion. He is very inquisitive and is always getting into trouble. Most defintely he will be a dominant cat. He is the larger of the 2 new ones as well. Strider is very good looking as well and will be a very beautiful boy when he is bigger. He is a bit smaller and doesn't seem to be growing as rapidly as the others but that could just be normal. We will be taking the 2 new boys to the vet soon for a checkup and to see when we can get them both neutered. He can check strider and see if all is ok. He seems right as rain so I'll just be presumptious and say he is just growing slower and the larger is the exception. The vet will either concur or we'll deal with it then.

Back to work nightshift tonight for 4 nights. At least the weather 3500 feet underground stays unchanged for most of the year. Does get a little warm in the summer months but its usually tolerable. Have some equipment reviews and procedures to go over with my crew as well as a mock incident to run this rotation. Need to see how they will react in all the different areas of incident management and its better to do this under mock conditions rather than an actual injury. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Carnival Ride!

Couple pictures of the Chilkoot after the carnival ride which ended with us sliding upside down in 4 feet of snow for about 20 feet.

Inherently Lazy

Well its only been like forever since I blogged and I'm not sure where to start. The addition of 3 yes 3 new kittens to the house has been rather interesting. All ragdoll kittens. The oldest is 7 months old. He is a Flame Point with the name of Legolas. The two newest additions are 3 months old. One is a blue mitten with a blaze and the other is a seal mitted. Their names are Flash and Strider respectively. They are all very cute :) We of course still have our old girl Melody who is 14 years old. She is a lovely dark chocolate almost black color. She is the most laid back cat you'll ever encounter.

I now have another new Pathfinder! Seems the one I picked up in 06 didn't like me and through itself into the ditch in February. Was a total right off but Taco and myself walked away unscathed. Nanny was watching over us on our trip home :) Once I get some pics of new truck better than one below I'll post them.

Amber-Lee's bowling team won their zones and went on to the YBC provincials where they won that as well! She is now off to Edmonton the first week of May to bowl in the Nationals. It's been a fun time getting to that point and were all very proud of her teams accomplishment! It's not everyday 9 year old girls are bowling 200-288 games but they managed to do so at the provincials. Way to go!! Everyone wish them good luck!!

I wish spring would arrive sooner rather than later as I've about had it with cold weather and snow. Only about 6 feet deep mind you :P

Things to do..people to see... cat *&%$ to deal with ( as luck would have it all 4 cats will be between 15-20 pounds when full grown) and that translates into a whole lot of *&%$ I've gotten myself into. Till later...

Finally...Just another day :)

Last couple days have been interesting to say the least. Sewer was backing up in my bathroom...not a good thing..problem it turns out....after of course the plumbers...the city crews and whomever else happened to be about spent 2 days at it...the problem has gone. The city line was plugging up and cut off the T into my house. Fortunately they got it open or the guy across the street whose yard the sewer pipe runs under would of been shocked. Bro Dented has thankfully recovered the PA equipment that crawled into the bush. Escaping to parts unknown though is his Photo album the grad class gave him :/ Hopefully it turns up.

House cleaning at my usual pace is the game plan for the day. Plumbers and such are about as clean as 2 week old puppies! You can well imagine the state of the basement after they left. Such a pleasant aroma and shit stains all over from the 100' snake..roto rooter..camera they ran in and out of my line in their attempt to find the problem. Only good thing is because the city line was the culprit they get they enormous bill the plumbers will submit. There is half the cost of a new fish tank ..hehehe Time to clean and get supper figured out! Have a good day folks :)

Boo eh!

The epic started out on shakey ground this morning. My riding jacket somehow turned invisible over the winter. :/ Bugs hurt...anything over 100k is ludicrist speed in a t shirt. Lesson learned...keep looking for jacket. Seems strange that I can turn the 3rd bedroom into a haven for purses, shoes, sweaters, pants, etc etc by making it one big walk in closet with all them fancy racks, hangers, shelves etc etc (wife it seems really really likes purses, sweaters, shoes etc etc) but my one riding jacket..gets lost in the shuffle. Don't get me wrong organizing the miriad of purses, shoes, sweaters etc etc was a good thing. I now get a third of a closet to hang my goodies in. Its even in the room I sleep in. Sweetness!! I guessing if I buy a bigger house I just might get some more room for a little while. With all the media today for women to shop though I fear that may just open an entire new can of worms. Take my lumps I suppose.....fight for my little bit of space. You know the routine guys...smile and wave boys..smile and wave :)

Pictures speak louder than words!

Well being I am messing with pictures..I'll link to some photos of the custom bathroom we made for the wife. Apparently women love fancy bathrooms.

So begins another day....

There I sat enjoying a moment of serenity when this funny rumbling sound approaches and stops. I look up and there in front of my house is a city truck and a backhoe....MMMM I wonder if they are here to dig up the neighbours yard for the 5th time in 4 years...We shall wait and see if the key phrase is...sucks being him or sucks being me...I'm not so lucky and never win at anything so chances are great its him who will be the get my front yard dug up winner.

Fish tanks are my adventure of choice for today...I will get the gravel cleaning and water changes done. Moved my new marble sailfin pleco from quarantine into Finneys' (Male Betta) tank. Hopefully he gets the algae all cleaned up in short order!! 9 fish tanks takes lots of maintenance but I shall soon add more..as well as a brine shrimp hatchery...need to move my baby bettas from the hatchery into the grow out tank soon. Little fellas be ripping each others heads off soon. Got mom and dad all ready for another spawn so when we get back from Regina trip i'll let em get at it. Time to have smokey break and get some house cleaning done!

Well I did as much as I felt like doing :P Making schnitzel, broccoli and baked potato for supper...nothing fancy but my schnitzel is good :) Will have to come back after supper and a test ride on the 440. Hope it no dies and leaves me walking :P

Probably just jinxed myself but such is life!

Well I ate my supper and took the praise from the family for a job well done...then it seems the couch magnet in my *$$ came on with a vengance....took all my will power just to avoid sitting down and having a nap...its a genetic thing and I should just accept it but I always been a rebel :P Needless to say I didn't go for a bike ride..hell just avoiding the couch sucked what little energy I had right out of me...perhaps tomorrow will be a good day :P

So I'll just sit and enjoy a good smoke...maybe I can figure out what to do with the rest of my vacation. Get a new epic started :)

Fishing Trip with bro and friends!

Left June 1 From Flin Flon. Proceeded to Elbow lake through the Cranberry Lake Grass River system. Awesome journey! Lots of beer and yuckaflux. Few unmentionables and a relaxing hot boat ride. Sunburn abounded that day. Setup camp Friday evening and went out for short fishing trip to get enough walleye for supper. Returned to camp..cleaned em ..cooked em and ate em. Wonderful feast! The whole weekend went like that with the exception of "Wine Night" that was a whole different animal in itself :P Had a great time..Few minor injuries from fish cleaning...hugging the hot fire place..and last but not least the trip into the boat that caused one individual to stick his bottom teeth out through his bottom lip. had to forgive the leaking and drooling for the last 2 days from him :P Everyone made it home had a great time and came to the conclusion that fishing from a pontoon boat is awesome. " Open the door walleye coming in" was the catch phraze of the weeked! Still got till July 17 off work so will be off travelling again and back to update blog at later date.

Forgot to mention I found a geocache on Chinaman Island. Was an old cracker tin with a notebook, pencil, few bucks in change and other trinkets. Filled out the log book left some things and will check it next year and see if it still remains!
