The Joy Of Cat &#%$

All I can say is WOW! Do 4 cats ever make a lot of &#%$ !! The "good" cat litter must become a thing of the past or I will be broke..haha At this rate I'll spend at least 120-140 a month on cat litter alone. Not good for the "entertainment" fund :/ The big cheap generic bags will soon be a reality. The odor control, clumping variety never has a chance to do either as the litter box requires cleaning and changing every 3 days to keep the cats themselves clean as well as the cat room. The expensive litter is obviously for single cat dwellings where the litter box can remain untouched by human hands a lot longer. The multiple cat claims on the litter box only is of use if there is 2-3 boxes at a time in the litter box. Who wants a 60+ pound bag of litter to change weekly...not I! More work for me but at least I'll save money.

The cats are all doing great and growing like mad. The flame point boy gets prettier everyday as his orange rings and points get darker. He's going to be a big gorgeous cat in another year. He is such a mama's boy and is always following the wife around talking to her and wanting attention. Loves to snuggle and is your typical flop in your arms ragdoll who purrs like a runaway sports car. The 2 newest additions are typical kittens. They spend most of their time eating or sleeping. When they are awake ans energetic it is a constant laugh as they chase each other and Legolas around whilst playing with their various toys. Flash is the most vocal of them all. He is always talking up a storm in a very loud fashion. He is very inquisitive and is always getting into trouble. Most defintely he will be a dominant cat. He is the larger of the 2 new ones as well. Strider is very good looking as well and will be a very beautiful boy when he is bigger. He is a bit smaller and doesn't seem to be growing as rapidly as the others but that could just be normal. We will be taking the 2 new boys to the vet soon for a checkup and to see when we can get them both neutered. He can check strider and see if all is ok. He seems right as rain so I'll just be presumptious and say he is just growing slower and the larger is the exception. The vet will either concur or we'll deal with it then.

Back to work nightshift tonight for 4 nights. At least the weather 3500 feet underground stays unchanged for most of the year. Does get a little warm in the summer months but its usually tolerable. Have some equipment reviews and procedures to go over with my crew as well as a mock incident to run this rotation. Need to see how they will react in all the different areas of incident management and its better to do this under mock conditions rather than an actual injury. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Carnival Ride!

Couple pictures of the Chilkoot after the carnival ride which ended with us sliding upside down in 4 feet of snow for about 20 feet.

Inherently Lazy

Well its only been like forever since I blogged and I'm not sure where to start. The addition of 3 yes 3 new kittens to the house has been rather interesting. All ragdoll kittens. The oldest is 7 months old. He is a Flame Point with the name of Legolas. The two newest additions are 3 months old. One is a blue mitten with a blaze and the other is a seal mitted. Their names are Flash and Strider respectively. They are all very cute :) We of course still have our old girl Melody who is 14 years old. She is a lovely dark chocolate almost black color. She is the most laid back cat you'll ever encounter.

I now have another new Pathfinder! Seems the one I picked up in 06 didn't like me and through itself into the ditch in February. Was a total right off but Taco and myself walked away unscathed. Nanny was watching over us on our trip home :) Once I get some pics of new truck better than one below I'll post them.

Amber-Lee's bowling team won their zones and went on to the YBC provincials where they won that as well! She is now off to Edmonton the first week of May to bowl in the Nationals. It's been a fun time getting to that point and were all very proud of her teams accomplishment! It's not everyday 9 year old girls are bowling 200-288 games but they managed to do so at the provincials. Way to go!! Everyone wish them good luck!!

I wish spring would arrive sooner rather than later as I've about had it with cold weather and snow. Only about 6 feet deep mind you :P

Things to do..people to see... cat *&%$ to deal with ( as luck would have it all 4 cats will be between 15-20 pounds when full grown) and that translates into a whole lot of *&%$ I've gotten myself into. Till later...
